The license in plain words

You can

  • Use it for anything, including paid work: print, websites, apps, logos, video and games.
  • Embed it in documents, websites and apps.
  • Share it or bundle it with software, even software you sell.
  • Change it and share your changed version.

You can’t

  • Sell the font files on their own (bundled with other software is fine).
  • Give a changed version the original’s “Reserved Font Name”, if the license lists one.

When you share the files

  • Keep the license and copyright notice with the font files when you share them.
  • Share changed versions under the same license.

A friendly summary of the SIL Open Font License 1.1, not legal advice. What counts is the license that comes with the font: OFL.txt.

What’s wrong?

A bug inside the font itself (a wrong letter shape, spacing, a crash)? The designer can fix that: report it on the font’s project page.
